A Brazil, Rio de Janeiro-based Academy of Letters has said it bestowed "Academic Palms", the highest ho nour usually granted Heads of States, Ministers and President of High Cultural Association, on Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi for promoting peace among people of diverse religious beliefs globally.    Brazilian Scholar, Alberto  Silva, decorating Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi, with Academic Palms honour, in Brazil. Lagos Assembly to award meticulous Lagosians

The Lagos State House of Assembly has considered the Lagos State Award Scheme bill 2017. This was made known today during the second reading of the bill for a law to establish the Lagos State Award Scheme to specify among other things the privileges of the recipients and for connected matter. Hon. Sanai Agunbiade According to the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the executive bill is to establish the Lagos State Merit Award which benefits will confer on recipients the privilege of using the award to being qualified for certificates and medals as well as such other privileges. “The bill is meant to be a kind of motivation to individuals who have served meritoriously the State in different capacities” He further stated that the bill also provides for a Council to be constituted of a Chairman of 5 Members representing each of the 5 divisions of the State. Lagos Assembly evaluates LSNSC activities

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have evaluated the  activities of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LSNSC) after one year of its activities. Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa while commending the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode for investing in the State security, recalled that the LSNSC recently celebrated its one year anniversary and there was need to review their activities and achievements in respect to security in the State. Aisha Buhari honoured with Doctorate Degree

Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has been awarded a Doctorate in Humanities by Sun Moon University in South Korea. This was disclosed by Professor Hong Young-Shik of Political Science Department of the University, who led a team to pay a courtesy visit on the wife of the President, Thursday 21 st  June, 2018 at the Presidential Villa. Professor Hong said “the humanitarian activities of Mrs. Buhari have caught the attention of the world and the Senate of the Sun Moon University, especially her outstanding work with women and children.” The University, he said, identifies with her efforts through Future Assured. LHIS will improve health services-Olulade

The Acting Chairman of the House Committee on Health Services, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade, has said that the ongoing amendment of Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme (LHIS) Law would help in improving the delivery of adequate health services in the state. Hon. Segun Olulade Olulade said this at the stakeholders meeting organised by the Committee during the week, at the Assembly Complex, Alausa, Ikeja. He stressed” I believe that we are on the path of positive improvement on the things that have to do with health. Eid Fitri: Don't Stop sharing love

Mudashiru Obasa has called on Nigerians, particularly Muslims not to relent in sharing love among themselves despite the end of the Ramadan fasting. Rt Hon. Mudashiru Obasa Obasa also advised Nigerians to continue to maintain peace and avoid utterances and actions that can cause disharmony among themselves.
